Plain Woven Wire Screen

Plain Woven Wire Screen

Product Description

Plain weave screens are essential for the majority of screening applications. In this type of weave wires are bent and locked together to form a robust structure where each wire keeps the adjoining wires in place. Plain Weave Wire Mesh is typically square and are very common in under 25mm (1”) aperture size and can go up to 100mm (4”).

1. Material: High carbon steel wire, low carbon steel wire, galvanized wire, stainless steel wire and other metal wires.

2. Features: Offering stable structure, good strength and uniform mesh.

Weaving method and process of plain weave wire mesh

Plain weave wire mesh from Changte is a fundamental and widely used type of woven wire mesh, known for its simplicity and versatility. It is created by interlocking wires in a basic over-and-under pattern, resulting in a strong and evenly distributed mesh structure. The plain weave method is straightforward but offers several benefits, making it suitable for various applications ranging from filtration to decorative purposes.

1. Basic Pattern: Plain weave wire mesh is woven using a straightforward over-and-under pattern. This simplicity makes it versatile and widely used.

2. Warp and Weft: Longitudinal wires, called warp wires, are spaced evenly and run parallel. Transverse wires, known as weft wires, are woven through the warp wires.

3. Shedding: Some warp wires are raised to create an opening for the weft wire. This is done alternately, raising every other warp wire.

4. Weft Insertion: The weft wire is inserted through the opening created by the raised warp wires. It alternates between going over one warp wire and under the next.

5. Beating: After each weft insertion, the weft wire is pressed down tightly against the woven portion using a beater. This ensures a stable and uniform mesh.

6. Repeat and Finish: Steps 3 to 5 are repeated consistently, forming the characteristic over-and-under pattern. Once the desired mesh length is achieved, the woven mesh is cut and excess wires are trimmed.
