120mm 4 Core Armoured SWA Cable

Product Description

What is 120mm 4 Core SWA Cable?

A 120mm 4 Core SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) Cable is an electrical cable consisting of four copper conductors, each with a cross-sectional area of 120 square millimeters, insulated with XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) and protected by a black PVC sheath. The cable is also armored with steel wire, providing additional protection against physical damage, making it suitable for use in harsh environments such as underground or outdoors. The SWA cable is commonly used for power transmission and distribution in industrial and commercial settings.

Characteristics

Rated voltage: 0.6 / 1 kV

Maximum Conductor Temperature: under normal (90℃), emergency (130℃) or short circuit no more than 5 s (250℃) conditions.

Min. Ambient Temp. 0℃, after installation and only when cable is in a fixed position

Min. Bending Radius: 12 x cable O.D for multi core

Construction of 120mm 4 core cable

Construction

① Conductor: Compact stranded copper conductor, Cl.2 as per IEC 60228

② Insulation: XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) rated at 90OC

③ Inner covering : PVC

④ Armoring: Galvanized steel wire. That way the cable can withstand higher stresses, be buried directly and used in external or underground projects.

⑤ Sheath: PVC or FR-PVC type ST2 to IEC 60502, black

Other Construction informations:

Bedding: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is used as bedding to provide a protective boundary between inner and outer layers of the cable.

Armouring: Steel Wire Armour (SWA) used for mechanical protection. That way the cable can withstand higher stresses, be buried directly and used in external or underground projects.

Standards

International: IEC 60502, IEC 60228, IEC 60332

China: GB/T 12706.1-2008

Other standards such as BS, DIN and ICEA upon request

120mm 4 Core SWA Cable Advantages :

To ensure safety in public places such as medium schools, large hospitals, plazas, etc., when using a 120mm 4 Core SWA Cable, it is necessary to purchase either an LSZF (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) 120mm 4 Core SWA Cable or an LSHF (Low Smoke Halogen Free) Cable. These cables have insulation materials that are low-pressure halogen-free and fireproof, making the LSHF 120mm 4 Core SWA Cable a safer option than other common 120mm 4 Core SWA Cables, especially in the event of a fire hazard. However, the price of LSHF 120mm 4 Core SWA Cable is higher than that of other cables. Before burying the cable, it is important to test the insulation's flame retardant and fire resistance.
